Sketch Preview

Here are the drawn versions of the two pieces I currently have up at the Erebuni Gallery in Williamsburg.
The finished pieces can be seen when the show opens this Friday. Opening reception is Friday Sept 18th at from 6-9pm.

Secret Identities

Due to my seemingly perpetual absence from blogging I have failed to post several significant events. One of them being the release of "Secret Identities: The Asian American Superhero Anthology".
The anthology includes the work I did in collaboration with Yul Kwon last year along with a multitude of amazing art and stories by various artists like Gene Luen Yang, Greg Pak, and Christine Norrie. Many thanks to Jeff Yang, Parry Shen, Keith Chow, and Jerry Ma for letting me be a part of this group of talents.
The book has received rave reviews and it's available in Amazon, Barnes and Nobles and any major comic retailers near you.

2 ART 4 TV!!

Stop by the Erebuni Gallery in Williamsburg this Friday between 6-9pm
for the opening reception of the 4th annual 2art4T.V. art show.
Two of my newest
pieces will be at the show along with works by Liz Artinian and Christopher Fisher as well as other great artists currently working in animation. Afterwards mingle with us at Trophy Bar for the
after party.

The Goldfish

Another work in progress. This one is called Carla and the Goldfish. I was inspired to do this piece while I waited for a table in a Japanese restaurant. There was an aquarium across from me that I must've stared at for almost an hour until we finally got a table. This is what came out of that experience.

Secret Identities

Two weeks ago, comic group Secret Identities paired me up with Survivor season 2 winner Yul Kwon, to create a superhero. His name is Cataclysm and he's a genetically enhance supersoldier who has to absorb living matter to survive.
Originally, Jeff Yang and crew approached me to do the cover but due to time constraints I had to settle for a one page illustration. The illustration will be included the graphic novel Secret Identities: The Asian American Superhero Anthology. The book will be published in trade paperback by The New Press, one of the nation's leading independent publishers, hitting bookshelves in SPRING 2009!

Random Sketch

Here is something my one and only fan out there might enjoy. This is a sketch I did while having brunch with friends. I'm not sure what it is but I'm gonna call "Odette." Doesn't it look like it would be called Odette? She's suppose to look savage but a few people think she's cute. What do you think?

Roller

Hello all! This is my first attempt to blog which is weird to me because I don't really have a lot to say. I apologize in advance if I come off as boring, redundant, and occasionally sounding drunk. So to cut to the chase, here is my second post. It is a design for a military transport vehicle that's going to be a part of this fantasy-themed painting that I'm working on. I'll be posting more designs as work progresses.
